EXERCİSE 1
Our beagle loves hunting rabbits.As soon
as someone opens the back door for her ,she barrels down porch and steps into
the yard.She runs back and forth accross the lawn in ecstasy.Her nose cruises
the wet grass for smells which are belong to cats, rabbits and other precences
to subtle for human detection.She sniffs and spins her tail that spins
clockwise first and then spins counterclockwise in quick circles.These two
activities always ocur together.They are sniffing and spining.They seem to
propel her along.I love seing her in a cheerful mood.We have lucky to have her.
EXERCİSE 2
The
Government Printing Office in Washington D.C,few people know about it ,is a
source of useful information.It is the official publishing house fort he
federal government.The GPO publishes pamphlets and boks on a vast number
subjects ranging from he dangers of X- rays ,from home TVsets to the
identification of mushrooms.About 27.000 publications are offered through The
Superintended of Documents.Many of them are inexpensive and for some of them
there is no charge at all which makes reading and searching easier for people.It
is supposed to increase the reading rate in Washington.
EXERCİSE 3
A man
reaping America’s first fortune was John Jacob Astor.He was lowborn and
uneducated German immigrant.He made his initial Money trading Indian furs and
made a fortune from this trade.Astor never learned to speak English properly
which wasn’t an obstacle for him.He carried on his business to the end in an Accent
which was redolent of the Hamburg gutters.
